INTRODUCTION

On 2nd August 1982 with 28 children of the Juanga (PVTG) Adivasi Village Banjhikusum, Ms. Veronica Dung Dung from Sundargarh District started a non-formal school under a barren Kusum Tree in Dhenkanal District of Odisha. (The name of the village draws its name from barren Kusum trees) She taught them through singing dancing in a joyful atmosphere.

Objective

  • Right Based: Protection and promotion of Human Rights and implementation of constitutional rights for the Schedule tribe communities.

  • Education: Enabling access to quality Education that enhances employability and negotiation power of the community groups & institutions.

Vision & Mission

Samajik Seva Sadan envisions an Empowered Human Society where the marginalized people including Adivasis & Dalits live with Dignity, Equality, Harmony and Justice.
